About Dr. Priya Sharma

After completing her MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Madras Medical College, Dr. Sharma spent six years in the high-risk obstetric unit of a tertiary referral hospital in Chennai, managing pregnancies complicated by hypertension, gestational diabetes and previous caesarean section. She joined Alpha Clinic in 2016 to build a service where a woman sees the same consultant from her first scan to her postnatal review.

She is known among her patients for explaining things without shorthand. Scan findings are shown on screen and talked through, treatment options are set out with their trade-offs, and the reasoning behind a recommendation is written down so it can be reconsidered later.

Dr. Sharma consults in English, Tamil and Hindi, and is happy to see patients who would prefer a female consultant.
